Visiting Professor, School of Communication Design

Tony Brook is a designer and publisher who, in 1992, established the multidisciplinary design studio Spin. Working in print, motion graphics and digital design, Spin creates inspiring and contemporary corporate identities.

It was Spin who shaped UCA’s new brand identity, capturing our pride in making, collaboration and creativity. 

In 1984, Tony joined the design agency Shoot That Tiger! followed by Icon in 1989 and Crimson in 1991, before setting up Spin with his partner Patricia Finegan in 1992. Since then, Spin has expanded in size and influence, focusing on the branding of large clients including Channel 4, the Whitechapel Gallery, Diesel, Levi’s, MTV, the Design Museum, Nike, Five, Crafts Council and More4.

Tony also co-founded Unit Editions, an independent publishing venture producing high quality books on graphic design and visual culture.

Design Museum (London, 2011) - Wim Crouwel - A Graphic Odyssey. An avid collector of graphic design, Tony curated a major retrospective of the work of the Dutch designer Wim Crouwel.
