Academic Support staff include Learning Development Tutors and Learning & Teaching Librarians, who work with course tutors to provide tailored workshops, seminars and tutorials that help you with your research and assignment work, enhancing your overall learning experience.

Help for students

We're here to help you develop effective library skills, including how to research and evaluate information. You'll get to know us on your course through embedded workshops, but we also offer one-to-one and small-group tutorials that will help you make the most of the Library and the world of published information.

We're here to help you with:

  • finding and evaluating research sources
  • accessing online resources
  • using the Library catalogue
  • suggesting books/resources for the Library to buy
  • how to search the web effectively
  • how to reference and compile bibliographies
